Beginner ski touring routes near Serre Chevalier

The descent takes place on the ski area, pay attention to observing the schedules (grooming, and the presence of cables outside the resort’s opening hours).

Easy mountain ski touring itinerary
Here are some examples of “easy” ski touring routes near Briancon.
No matter which route you choose, don’t forget that:
- The mountain involves risks; if you have any doubt about your abilities or knowledge, turn to professionals.
- Ski touring equipment is not as “easy” as alpine ski equipment. Do not overestimate your technical level.
Izoard Pass – Napoleon Refuge
Introductory hike with little objective risk. Allow 2 hours.
400m of elevation gain on the road to the Col de l’Izoard, ending at Refuge Napoléon to recharge.
Easy descent on a snow-covered road.
Laurichard Pass
Easy hike, well-used but located in an area close to high-mountain terrain. Do not go there in case of instability or poor visibility.
2H, 600M of elevation change.
Descent requiring off-piste skills.
